WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO START AMBITION:

DARCY: My passion for fashion began at the age of 8 when I started modeling. With Ambition the Label, my vision was to create a brand that seamlessly blends timeless elegance with everyday style. I wanted to offer versatile pieces that not only make you feel confident but can also be worn from day to night, styled in countless ways. Above all, I’m committed to promoting slow fashion and crafting high-quality, sustainable pieces.

PETRA: My journey in fashion led me to the natural decision to start a brand when I moved to Australia. I had been waiting for the right moment and the right partner to bring my vision to life. I wanted to introduce a touch of European fashion to Australia, blending on-trend, unisex pieces with a strong focus on sustainability.

WHAT WERE YOU DOING BEFORE AMBITION:

DARCY: Before launching Ambition the Label, I gained valuable experience across various industries, including hospitality, retail, event management, and marketing. While I’ve explored many roles, modeling and fashion have always been my true passion. I actually model most of our Ambition collections myself, which is incredibly rewarding — designing a collection and then bringing it to life in front of the camera, from start to finish.

PETRA: I started my first business in the fashion industry in Croatia when I was 22 so ten years ago. I did everything for that business from scratch: admin, designing items, ordering and dealing with manufactures, travelling to Italy to explore trends; and all of the marketing. I also have the same amount of experience in marketing where I helped so many businesses to grow. I always knew it was only a matter of time until i launched my own brand in Australia as well.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONAL STYLE:

DARCY: Minimalistic & effortlessly stylish. I gravitate towards high-quality, comfortable basics that can be styled in a variety of ways. At the same time, I love incorporating a few bold statement pieces into my wardrobe to elevate my outfits and add a bit of flair.

PETRA: I always say it’s about how you carry yourself not just how you wear something, it shows your personality. So I would say I’m very confident in anything I wear, I love statement pieces and outfits that stand out from the crowd. I love to be bold with styling my pieces but I love being comfortable.

FAVOURITE AMBITION ITEM:

DARCY: Our denim jeans for sure, i literally wear them every second day..

PETRA: Our recycled puffer coat - it's super warm and stylish.

BIGGEST PINCH ME MOMENT:

DARCY: Honestly every time i see someone wearing one of our pieces - i am always so proud and excited. (no better feeling in my opinion)

PETRA: I can’t pick one, I feel like we achieved a lot in a few years of having Ambition but one of them is definitely launching in Myer just a few months after the launch.
